Church of Mother of God and Convent of the Franciscan Fathers.

Although the church was founded in 1558, its current appearance corresponds to the works carried out in 1620 by the Malaga master builder Francisco de Lucena, on an old medieval hermitage. A simple Mannerist portal leads to a spacious nave with a Latin cross plan, with side chapels, centered on a tall luminous semi-spherical dome. The main altar is presided over by a beautiful Baroque Solomon-style altarpiece, crafted by José Matías Sánchez, following the designs of Leonardo Antonio de Castro. Also noteworthy are the minor altarpieces and a statuary of considerable interest, including several images attributed to Pedro de Mena and the image of Our Lady of Sorrows, a Pietà created in 1799 by Blas Molner. The adjoining convent is organized around a beautiful courtyard, with a square shape and large dimensions, formed by two cloisters, upper and lower, with arcades on Doric columns in the lower one and Ionic columns in the upper one, and centered around a monumental fountain with a mixed-line shape and a baroque double-basin pillar, from the early 17th century.
