Civil Clock Tower

The Civil Clock Tower is located in the urban center of Luque, very close to the Hermitage of San Nicolás Tolentino and the Hermitage of the Aurora. It was erected in 1820, and a clock with bells powered by weights was installed. It has been standing still since its clockmaker, Miguel, took the secret of its operation to the grave. Its significance lies in being a civil building. In the 19th century, in the small villages of Andalusia, most constructions were of a religious nature, with civil constructions being scarce. Former clock of the Luque Town Hall.
