MILK STICKS.

Ingredients:

1 kg of flour mixed with 10% strong flour.

200 ml of milk.

220 ml of extra virgin olive oil.

300 g of sugar.

4 cinnamon sticks.

25 g of sesame seeds.

Extra virgin olive oil for frying.

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil with a piece of lemon peel. Set aside.

  2. In a bowl, mix the oil with the milk. Add cinnamon, sugar, and sesame seeds.

  3. Add the flour and make a dough. Work the dough with your hands for 10 minutes and set aside.

  4. Cut small portions and shape sticks with your hands, 4 or 5 cm long and 1 cm thick.

  5. Fry in moderately hot oil and reserve in a covered container.

Tip: This dough is somewhat tough and can be worked well with hands. You can add an egg to the dough, as well as incorporate more sugar to make them sweeter. When frying, keep an eye on the oil so it's not too hot or too cold. Make the sticks little by little so they don't dry out or open while frying.
