Participate in a unique activity, we offer you the opportunity to attend a lunch or dinner where all your senses will be protagonists. Taste a menu elaborated with the recipes from Reconquinaria, by Marco Gavio Apicio (1st Century), this great chef not only played with flavors but with the rest of the senses creating a world of sensations. Additionally, participate in their rituals (perfume, hand washing, coronation, etc.), as well as Roman pantomime.

CONVIVIUM

Convivium means indistinctly "feast", "invitation", and also the "assembly of guests". It is a festive event that goes beyond the simple act of daily eating. It is a social act in which not only food is shared but also fun, knowledge, conversation, gossip, poetry, jokes, gifts, fashions, and even much more private things in sophisticated environments. It is an act of coexistence since the verb "convivo" means equally "to live together" and "to eat with".

It is enjoyed after the guided tour of the Roman Villa "El Ruedo", Iberian Village "Cerro de la Cruz", and the Historical-Archaeological Museum. Guided by the patrician owner of the Roman villa "El Ruedo", we can attend this social act of coexistence, which begins with the reception of the guests at the archaeological site itself to perform the invocation to the "Lares", protective gods of the home, and then accompany us to the dining room where we can taste the menu prepared with the recipes of the time and served by the slaves, who will also make us participate in the rituals of the time, being able to accompany the host to his table and check how it was to eat "reclined" on a triclinium. Throughout the meal, a group of actors will surprise us with a particular recreation of a bacchanal. Ending with a poetry reading.

It has an approximate duration of 2 hours.

It can be celebrated for both lunch and/or dinner and to carry it out, a minimum of 20 people is needed.

This activity is usually held on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).
