Alarconas y Antorchas.

The hamlet of Alarconas y Antorchas is located to the southeast of the municipality of Iznájar, nestled in the "Sierra del Membrillar." Situated on the left bank of the reservoir, it constitutes a route of great landscape and natural richness, with extensive viewpoints over the reservoir and the surrounding agricultural landscape.

From the highest part of the hamlet, the Subbética Mountains can be seen, with the peak of "La Tiñosa" standing out.

The paths of the hamlet are ideal for practicing tourism related to the enjoyment of the natural environment, such as hiking or cycling routes.

The environment, predominantly olive groves, also presents, especially along the "Arroyo del Perejil," a great variety of native and typical species of the Mediterranean forest and crops, such as holm oak, gall oak, almond trees, pomegranates, fig trees, irises, rosemary, saffron, orchids, daisies, broom, and others.

In Alarconas y Antorchas, there are several natural viewpoints strategically located along the left bank of the reservoir, allowing the observation of the rich birdlife in the area: ducks, cormorants, grey herons, grebes, sandpipers, seagulls, reptiles like the ocellated lizard, turtles, badgers, or the ladder snake.

The "Fuente de la Francesa" is preserved in the area as a vestige of traditional architecture, which served as a watering trough and public laundry in a not too distant past.
